Toronto Children’s Chorus Board Chair Shelly Lowe earns prestigious ICD.D designation
January 9th, 2025

Congratulations to our Board Chair, Shelly Lowe, for her completion of the Institute of Corporate Directors - University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management Directors Education Program, featured in the Globe and Mail, and for subsequently earning her ICD.D professional designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

The ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program (DEP) is the leading national education program for experienced board directors in Canada. Through their pre-existing skills as directors, they qualify for the program by meeting the national experience standard for for-profit director effectiveness, business acumen, and professional expertise.

Shelly has been on the TCC Board since May 2022, and has led the Board as Chair since January 2023.  Shelly also serves on the Board of Special Olympics Ontario. She comes to her board leadership positions from a long-standing career with IBM, spanning several senior executive roles across sales, marketing and operations in Canada, and ultimately retiring as the Vice President for IBM Global Markets in Australia and New Zealand.

Shelly Lowe, TCC Board Chair: “The ICD.D designation represents a lifelong commitment to excellence in the boardroom, a desire to stay current, and to be a more effective director. I'm proud to join this cohort who strive every day to bring this value to the boards on which they serve.”

Charlotte Burrage, TCC Executive Director: “We are so thankful to have Shelly as our dynamic and inspiring Board Chair. We congratulate her on this significant achievement and appreciate her commitment to bring best practices in governance to our organization.”

Congratulations again, on joining the cohort of remarkable business leaders featured in the Globe and Mail.
