Bursaries and Scholarships
A strategic priority for TCC is community building through music. One way to build community is to bring in and reflect different voices and experiences of the diverse Toronto community. Removing barriers to enable us to welcome more children from different financial backgrounds is one way that we strive to do this.

There are currently two TCC funds and one external fund that provide financial support to our families.

Jean Ashworth Bartle Bursary Fund
The Jean Ashworth Bartle Bursary Fund, named in honour of our Founder and Conductor Laureate, provides financial assistance towards tuition. The bursary covers a portion of tuition based on financial need and ability to commit to TCC’s program schedule.

You can help!
If you would like to support our efforts to give more children access to TCC’s transformative musical experience and education,

Donald E. Bartle Youth Choral Fund
This fund provides financial support towards summer touring costs, based on need, to a select number of Chamber Choir choristers. The fund is named in honour of the late Donald E. Bartle, the husband of TCC founder Jean Ashworth Bartle, who provided dedicated and unconditional support to the Choir.

This endowment fund is governed by the Ontario Arts Foundation; the amount available for the TCC to disburse each year will depend on the interest earned on the endowment. The funding each applicant receives will also be based on their financial need and the number of applicants in that year.

Arts Access Fund Scholarship
In addition to TCC’s own bursary program, new TCC choristers (in their first year with the Chorus) can apply to the Arts Access Fund (AAF) for a scholarship to assist with their TCC tuition. AAF generously helps support up to three new TCC choristers each season.
For more information on the Arts Access Fund, please visit www.artsaccessfund.org or email Ritu Bhardwaj, Executive Director at ritu@artsaccessfund.org.

AAF is a registered charity with an application process. Available support funds are separate from those of the TCC.
