Advancing Innovative Musical Standards

Your financial support ensures that the legacy of Canada’s premier treble choir continues.

The Toronto Children’s Chorus is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that has been providing children with life-enhancing experiences and music education as part of one of the finest treble choirs in the world since 1978. The Chorus is recognized for its exquisite artistry in performance and its educational excellence and continued development of leadership and life skills in children.

Providing an exceptional education, performance and experience to chorister families and to the community at large has high costs associated with it; costs not met by tuition and concert ticket sales alone. Carrying on the work of the Chorus as a world-class organization requires the financial support of members of the community – individual members, corporate and foundation support.

Help us find new ways to offer musical greatness and nurture leadership and excellence in our children.

What we do

Each year, the Toronto Children’s Chorus produces a concert series presented in Toronto’s most beautiful performance spaces including St. Anne’s Anglican Church, Roy Thomson Hall and the Weston Recital Hall at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. The Chorus’ young ambassadors have represented Toronto and Canada on twenty-three international tours; their most recent was a15-day European tour in June-July 2009 which included performing with the Vienna Boys’ Choir in the Golden Hall of Vienna’s famed Musikverien.

In addition to presenting annual concert series, appearing as guest artists, touring, and recording, the Toronto Children’s Chorus hosts outreach programs such as the School Choir Invitational, a day on which 700 school children meet and perform with the Toronto Children’s Chorus; and The Choral Project, a partnership with the Toronto District School Board, in which selected music teachers hone their choral conducting skills with Elise Bradley, and extend them to children from across the GTA in their own schools.

The Chorus believes that all children should have access to the benefits of musical education, and has an established Bursary Program that grows every year in order to give access to children who would not be able to afford to participate otherwise. Our Bursary Program has grown by 300% in two years and we are striving to continue to build this Fund to keep pace with the needs of our chorister families.
