Reviews
“The Toronto Children’s Chorus is a jewel in this city’s musical crown and, in terms of consistent pleasure, perhaps even the brightest. Since the creation of the chorus, the invaluable Jean Ashworth Bartle [Founder of the Chorus] has shaped the artistry of several generations of young choristers, urging them toward commanding musicality and interpretation.”
[The late] Urjo Kareda, Music Critic – Globe and Mail, Toronto
“In both rehearsal and performance, I have found the young musicians of the Toronto Children’s Chorus to be an incredibly disciplined and sensitive group of artists … Through international touring and recording, the Toronto Children’s Chorus has earned its place as one of the world’s most accomplished and sought-after children’s choirs.”
Peter Oundjian, Music Director
Toronto Symphony Orchestra
“[Elise] Bradley conducted the freshest and most touching Penderecki, a Sanctus and Benedictus, sung simply and exquisitely from memory by the children’s chorus alone. ….Penderecki showed his pleasure by bowing to the children and their conductor.”
The Globe and Mail, February 1, 2010
The Power of Penderecki, January 30 and 31, 2010
“The Toronto Children’s Chorus is one of the best children’s choirs I have EVER sung with! Bravo!”
Christine Brewer, famed American soprano
